Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an interesting history to the Cambodia gambling halls that lie just across the border from next door Thailand, where casino gaming is banned. Eight gambling dens are established in a generally small space in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent destination, a three to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular gambling locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very couple of Westerners. The astonishing income gained from the gambling halls ranges from $7.5 million to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a couple of controls constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mostly Thai; although, financial sources are ambiguous. The borders are formally open from 0900 to 1700, and despite the fact visas are supposedly needed to pass, there are methods around this, as is real of many border crossings.

The original Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving just a single gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary boat gambling den, contains one hundred and fifty slot machine games and sixty gaming tables. The Naga gambling hall never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of chemin de fer, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long opened. There are one hundred and fifty slot machines and five table games at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slots and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machine games and 96 gaming tables, including 87 baccarat banque (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slots and sixty six of the normal tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machines and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a multinational resort and hotel compound that features numerous conveniences on top of the gambling den, which offers ten thousand square feet of 130 slot machines and 88 table games.
